Beginning Orchestra (Strings)
The first year instruction in strings (violin, viola, cello) includes correct holding position, bow grip, selected major and minor scales, and rhythm studies. Appropriate musical terms, dynamic markings, and the parts and care of stringed instruments are emphasized. Beginning string class prepare a number of concert selections which are performed for an audience.
Advanced Strings (year-long)
This course is an in-depth study of varied and sophisticated music for intermediate and advanced students. Students in this course constitute a major performing group.
